I make a to-do list for the weekend. I pull out a square sticky note early in the week, add things I want to get done, and move it with me through the journal, always keeping it on the current day’s page. On Saturday morning, I prioritise the tasks and decide which ones to tackle that day, then add them to my daily to-do list. It’s a new habit and it’s going well.
What’s working really well is that I’m not hit with a flood of to-dos on Saturday morning. I used to feel overwhelmed by how many small things seemed to need doing over the weekend, and realised that trying to squeeze them all in left no time for the things I actually enjoy.
Now the list builds gradually through the week, so I already know what’s coming by the time the weekend arrives. Seeing the list every day also helps me feel mentally prepared — which makes it possible to start the weekend feeling calm and happy.
